The Haven, Oswestry

Jesus meant it when He said,

“Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”  John 20:21 NIV

As you go, preach this message: 'The kingdom of heaven is near.'

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” Matthew 10:7-8 NIV

When John wanted to know if Jesus really was the One he was expecting, Jesus, who was at that very time curing many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and giving sight to many who were blind,  said,  to John’s messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.” Luke 7:21-22 NIV

How to be a Haven Helper.

Are you a Christian who lives locally?

Are you a Christian who shares the desire to offer God's practical help to people: offering healing through Jesus.

Are you a FAST Christian, one who is:

Faithful, Available, Servant-hearted and Teachable;

willing to be under the authority of the Haven leadership while at The Haven;

able to be with us more Wednesdays than not;

free from unresolved burdens – The Haven Oswestry focuses on the healing of those who come to us, not the helpers;

spiritually and personally sensitive, a listener and not eager to impose your prayer solutions upon others;

Someone not given to argue with those who do not believe in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, as you do, but able if asked to give a reason for the hope that is in you, being able to speak with grace for your faith;

willing to sit and stand in all weathers, cold as well as warm days; and

able to stand against temptation to claim any healing as due to 'your' prayer, but rather eager in all things to give God the glory
